Just a quick note on the 'who is the person' end.

I'm a veteran, so I tend to write stories where the folks involved have a connection that only really comes from shared experiences (military, police, firefighters, etc). My genres that I write might look pretty mixed, but I believe they all have that in common. You can also take it as a given that if I write on a show/comic/movie that I'm a fan.
